Can PresentKit run our hallway and cafeteria screens?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Publish a deck to a named signage channel and you get a permanent link. Open that link in the browser on a smart TV, or on the PC driving a display, and it plays on its own all day: no laptop in the hallway, nobody signed in. Set seconds per slide, shuffle on or off, and an optional clock for each channel.

How do we change what's playing on the screens?

Accepted Answer

From your desk. Open the channel, swap or reorder slides, and publish again to the same link. Every screen on that channel picks up the change on its own within about a minute. Screens cache their slides too, so they keep playing through a network drop or an overnight reboot.

Is a signage channel link private?

Accepted Answer

No. A channel link is public and unguessable. A TV can't sign in, so anyone who has the link can watch that channel. Treat the link like a key and put only content you're happy to have seen on a channel. Editing is locked down separately: only owners and admins can open or edit a channel, because changing one changes what a whole building sees.

Is signage included in standalone PresentKit?

Accepted Answer

No. Signage runs in PresentKit inside the DistrictMapper suite at app.districtmapper.com. Standalone PresentKit at getpresentkit.com is the live presenting tool on its own: the clean second screen, the phone remote, audience polls, and show controls.

How is PresentKit signage different from MarqueeLive?

Accepted Answer

PresentKit signage is the always-on screens: a deck you publish once that plays unattended in a hallway or a front office for as long as you want. MarqueeLive is one live event: moderated photos and messages from the crowd, on the big screen, during a graduation or a pep rally. Both are included free with the suite.
